CloseGrowing up in the cold state of Minnesota, it never occurred to me that Christmas was ever anything but white. The scenery was totally magical. Those images transferred in my mind to the night Jesus was born in the Holy Land. Snow around the stable? It very seldom snows in Bethlehem and who knows what time of year it was when the birth took place. The scenery was not particularly attractive, except that heaven came down to earth in that birth. The whole place lit up with incredible beauty as the heavenly host of angels brought light from the presence of God to the lonely shepherds’ field. It transformed the ordinary scenery into extraordinary beauty.
