CloseIt is recorded in the book of Revelation that Jesus sent Seven Letters to Seven churches, dictated to the Apostle John. Each letter included a commendation for things they were doing well, a criticism calling attention to what they were doing wrong, and an exhortation to do what is right. The first letter is to the church at Ephesus, calling them out for forgetting their first love. The wonderful discovery of the grace of God given in Jesus Christ is such amazingly wonderful and life-changing news! The experience of that undeserved love leads a joyful love in return, both to God and to Christian brothers and sisters. The danger is to let that love grow stale, commonplace, unremarkable. When we are daily renewed in grace through God’s Word, the love remains strong and grows even stronger. Let’s never get bored with the experience of God’s love.
