CloseThe real Jesus encountered identity issues. Some saw only a carpenter’s son. Others saw a fake messiah who had a demon. To others, He was an enigma. What did they see and hear? How did that picture fit into the frame in their mind about what God might be up to in Jesus? Many rejected Him and dismissed his claim to be God and “one with the Father,” as preposterous. For some, his miracles proved Jesus was in league with the devil. But one of his faithful followers, John, told us that “to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:12
