CloseThe 10 Commandments were never meant to be determined by majority opinion. Since they have God as their source they are meant for all people of all time. People not only break God’s commandments, but the commandments break us. Yet God’s heart is not to punish us but to forgive and restore. He even uses the 10 commandments as points of light for us, to show us our sin and lead us to repentance. With forgiveness and restoration of fellowship, God uses his commandments to show us how to live for his glory and be lights that reflect his bright light.
