CloseThe question of “Who is God?” is faced by every generation. Elijah courageously confronted a king and a culture that was quickly abandoning the true God for false ones. The challenge on Mount Carmel is the classic confrontation and contest. We each make an altar, gather wood, place a bull on the altar and call on the name of our God. Upon whose sacrifice the fire falls, theirs is the true God and we’ll serve him. It is an all or nothing risk. Though Elijah is outnumbered 450 to 1, he is on the majority side because God is always a majority and can always stand up to the competition!
