CloseGod is patient and merciful. A holy, just and righteous God sometimes must act with stern discipline and correction. That is what the Exile of Judah was all about in 587 B.C. They forfeited and then lost the privilege of their Promised Land. This gave them time to reflect and then to realize what went wrong. Is there any parallel in Christian experience? God does not want to see us self-destruct. He wants to get our attention so that we repent and redirect our focus off self to Him. All of that because He wants to shower us with grace and forgiveness and then embrace us with intimacy with Him.
