ClosePeople speak to each other, using words. Words are containers of meaning. Words mean things. Words are powerful. Words have the power to destroy or give life. We all use words in various ways. Jesus had a lot to say about that in the Sermon on the Mount. He warned about empty, stray, random meaningless words. He warned about words of aggression, deceit, and false swearing. He really wants Christians to “clean up” their language. Only He can do that and He will through the power of his word of forgiveness and the giving of the Holy Spirit.
