CloseThe Bible records an account of twin boys born about 4000 years ago on the other side of the world. They, Jacob and Esau, are totally unlike each other and don’t get along at all. One is favored by Dad, the other by Mom. Yet God, being who He is, uses these people to carry out His eternal purposes. There is a birthright that passes into and through this family that eventually brings the Messiah-Savior into the world. Jesus had some rather unsavory ancestors. The only real hero in the story is Jesus. Only He can repurpose our lives from serving self, sin, and Satan to serving God.
