Not By Works - His Light
“If you want it, you have to work for it.” That’s the conventional wisdom. You put in the effort and you get the reward. It conforms to the earthly equations. The more you put in the more you get out. However this is wrong when your goal is eternal salvation. You don’t work your way there. The Bible is totally clear that it is not by anything we do or accomplish or earn. Nowhere is it more clear than in Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is a gift of God, not a result of works so that no one may boast.” It is the polar opposite of conventional wisdom.
