Life in the Promised Land
Once the people of Israel got into the Promised Land, what was life like for them? There were almost perfectly idyllic times, and times of great stress. Times of peace and times of war. A lot like our own Christian life now. Yet even at the very best, this earthly land was not the full restoration of Paradise Lost. There was yet one more level of Promised Land, the heavenly land. God’s throne is there, but all evil and uncleanness is absent. No more death, sickness, tears of sorrow. Only joy!
